Freestyle
Put simply, freestyle involves doing ‘cool stuff’ over jumps. You might think that you’d need to be an amazing skier or boarder to have a go, but that’s not the case; all you really need is some confidence (and balls) to point your self towards a jump and see which part of you hits the ground first!
If you feel like giving freestyle a go but don’t fancy breaking anything important, you might be interested in an airbag session. These sessions feature a large jump with an even larger ‘airbag’ to cushion the landing. It is about as painless as freestyle gets!
There will be several chances to take part in freestyle competitions over the course of the coming year. They’re always a bit of fun to enter, even if you feel totally out of your league! Lack of ability can be made up for with some fancy attire.
We’re aiming to run several trips throughout the year to places with freestyle facilities, starting with a trip to the Milton Keynes X-scape snowdome in October. To take part in freestyle activities you’ll need to be a full ‘sports’ member and watch out for emails soon!
